Four years after their last album ‘Fly or Die’, the lead singer of the band Pharrell Williams released his solo album ‘In My Mind’ in between. Back to N*E*R*D, Pharrell joins his band mates Shae Haley and Chad Hugo for ‘Seeing Sounds’. Adopting a full band this time round, it is a departure from the previous hip-hop sound and sampling. Pharrell made a statement that ‘We didn’t care about genres, we’re not doing this for money’. The album is a mish mash of different flavours, such as light-hearted acid jazz, rhythmic funk rock and indie rock, resulting in an energetic and psychedelic sound.

Drug-themed single ‘Everyone Nose (All the Girls Standing in The Line for The Bathroom)’ combines elements from soul, jazz, house and garage. Starts with a slogan like expression, the tune marches into a wave of seamlessly evolving styles, making this track a perfect warm up for ‘Seeing Sounds’.
