Counting inspiration from femininity to movies; inking quotes on its packaging; products orderly placed in neat columns in a solemn manner not unlike library; such gestures are all attempts to inject a cultural flavour into skincare. Elevate your sight in the store and you will see the Louise Poulsen Satellite lighting which spotted also in University of Copenhagen; minimal German Hansa taps rooted back in the beginning of 20th century. Even its exterior is taken from a contemporary art museum in Melbourne. Exactly the concept of Aesop: elements, which are combined into variations unique for each skin type.

Aesop was founded in 1987, by Australian salon entrepreneur Dennis Paphitis. He believes that outer beauty is the result of healthy diet, exercise and emotion. It is his aim to create pleasant products that combined technology, minimally classy packaging and a sense of humour. Over 50 types of products with ingredients such as anti-oxidant and polyphenol are formulated to improve the condition and quality of different skin. Aesop opened its first concept store and beauty parlor in 2005, as well as developing various point-of-sale; 2008 sees its second Aesop concept store in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
