FEAST OF BURDEN
CAROLYN SALAS AND ADAM PARKER SMITH
The New York artist duo Carolyn Salas and Adam Parker Smith does not explain art work with a specific concept in mind. Instead, their work is about reflecting the situation at one place in time. Although without a deliberate ‘conscious’, their work is clearly influenced by the contemporary culture. When one pays attention to the familiar portraits and objects that appear in their work, it is as if their diaries made in felt and fabric are fermentation of the lives of these young American artists, which then materialised into physical beings. They never appear to be trying, yet reflecting the contemporary ‘At Moment’ in their work effortlessly. The most intriguing quality in their work is exactly that.
THINK SILLY Store will be hosting ‘Feast of Burden – An Exhibition by Carolyn Salas and Adam Parker Smith’, the duo’s debut exhibition in Hong Kong. Apart from the work in big scale, they have created a series of small sculptures exclusively for THINK SILLY. They will be available for sale, as well as limited edition T-shirt and newspaper bag.
