FLIP VIDEO 「MINO」
SHOOT AND SHARE, EVERYWHERE.
Followed by the evolution of digital age, hand-held camera recorder has developed two diverted paths. Hi-tech high definition image recorder on one hand, lightweight portable domestic machine for fragments of daily happenings on the other.
Mini camera recorder has proved to be a major player in the market over the years. It is not a coincident that YouTube and other web-share media is gaining following in the duration. Apart from its weight, user-friendly factor (i.e. easy to connect and upload information) is vital for portable camera recorder design now.
Pure Digital Technologies first launched the Flip Video camera recorder range and caused quite a stir in May 2007. It is no doubt that the internal uploading and editing software is the key to the success. Simply insert the USB port into any internet-connected computers then all is set to upload and edit. No extra software required. Before Wi-Fi mini camera recorder is invented, this is certainly as convenient as it gets.
‘Mino’, the third generation of Flip Video, has the same volume (2GB) as Flip ‘Ultra’, but its 0.63″ thickness is only half of Ultra. Its 3.3oz weight is also much lighter than Ultra’s 5.2oz due to the battery change (from AA to chargeable ones). The quality of the sound is also improved with changing from internal recording mic to the new improved design. Even the buttons are more advanced, user-friendlier shaped. Internal software is in place to enable connection to YouTube, AOL and now, MySpace. Such fun to be an internet creative fanatic these days.
