Geographically North Europe is far away from Asia, but somehow, on a creative level, one always feels the connection with their otherworldly fashion, design, music and films.
Music from North Europe always has a slightly distant, isolated quality. Be it Swedish pop, new jazz from Norway, post-rock from Iceland… Third year on a roll, ‘Notch Festival’ is taking stage again in Hong Kong. Laptop electronic group TAPE from Sweden, psychedelic free-folk group Kemialliset Ystavat, electronica Efterklang from Denmark will be performing, interacting with avant-garde musicians from Hong Kong such as Kung Chi Shing, Peter Scherr and John Lee. The event is bringing North European music live from the stereo to the stage.
An exhibition will also be held alongside, showing the work of Havss and Hannibal (Efterklang’s regular collaborator), Klas Augustsson (designer for indie Swedish label Hapna), Jan Anderzen (designer for Kemialliset Ystavat) and acclaimed Norway design company Grand People.
