Arnault Castel, the French owner of Kapok, has a unique intuition for searching ‘the’ venue. The previous location of Kapok was Tin Hau Temple Road on Hong Kong Island, with old trees and tranquil surroundings as its neighbour, but a mere five minutes walk from the MTR station at the same time. Relocating to Wanchai, near Star Street and St. Francis Street (think hidden designer furniture stores, authentic local eateries and park.) Although the new venue seems smaller in size, it is no less intriguing and interesting. Inside the shop are walls made of red wine wooden carts, displaying accessories, scented candles and stationery, all sourced by Arnault travelling around the world.
