Kim Songhe is a Korean female artist who is born and studied in Tokyo. Focused on Japan, she is known for her oversized puppy chandelier. Kim’s work was exhibited at Loveless, H.P.Frace and Hankyu Department Store Osaka Umeda Flagship Store to much acclaim. The artist has collaborated with Mediacom Toy Corporation to launch ‘Kim Songhe + Swarovski’ crystal 400% and 100% BE@RBRICK™. Pushing art towards commerce, the project is set to catch much attention.

SILLY THING invited Kim Songhe to create an oversized puppet chandelier back in 2006, to promote this Japanese Korean creative force. After a long creative discussion, Kim Songhe is creating the ‘Kim’s Couplet’ series for SILLY THING Toy Division just in time to be available before end of 2008. Entirely hand made, each of these exclusive toys is unique and functions as a pencil stand also. Embodying the signature of Kim Songhe, the toy combines various elements and recycled material. Only in small production, Kim’s Couplet is set to be a collectable art piece.
