‘Diamond ring’, an oversized ‘faux-diamond’ plastic ring composed of various layers and hues, is the first work that draw the design world’s attention to Alissia Melka-Teichroew. The designer is known for taking everyday object as the base to put a spin on. The result is conceptual perhaps, but definitely friendly too.
Inside Out Glasses is the latest offering based on the same design philosophy. Alissia mutates everyday champagne, martini and liqueur glasses, only the double layer glass gives away the faintest hint of their original shapes. Alissia once spoke about bringing new experience through design, a purpose that will certainly be fulfilled with Inside Out Glasses.
