DEBUTING HONG KONG CONTEMPORARY ART SESSION
Sotheby’s Hong Kong 2009 Spring Sale will be staged during 4th to 8th April. The eight categories including contemporary Asian Art, traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting, Chinese ceramics and craft, jewellery and fine watch, as well as the wine auction which will take place for the first time. Over 1,700 items will be auctioned, to an estimated amount of HKD600,000,000. Part of the collection has already started touring in various Asian cities and New York. The collection will also be in display during 4th to 7th April 2009.
The contemporary Asian art auction catches the most attention for the fine collection of contemporary Chinese, Japanese and Korean art pieces. Japanese artists including Yayoi Kusama, Yoshitomo Nara and Yoshitaka Amano; Korean artists Nam June Paik, Gwon Osang; Chinese artists Huang Yongping, Yue Minjun and Zeng Fanzhi. On top of these, Sotheby will present contemporary Hong Kong art session. A remarkable array of contemporary art pieces by Tsang Tsou Choi, Chi Keung Kam and Chow Chun Fai, Sotheby is showcasing the dynamic Hong Kong art scene to the international stage. This is a significant moment and art lovers, collectors and investors alike will become the witnesses.
