Simplicity portrays authenticity. A two-step routine of cleansing and moisturizing is what innovative beauty label (Malin + Goetz) builds upon.
Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz are the co-founders of (Malin + Goetz). Malin was trained in business management in Saks Fifth Avenue, moved on to become a beauty buyer for Barneys and then landed a position in Kiehl’s overseeing global sales and development. His most high profile career step, however, is to develop Helmut Lang perfumes in Prada Group. Goetz’s background lies in finding and cultivating architects and industrial designers, the multi-talented man was chosen as one of the best chefs in Manhattan in ‘Food & Wine’ magazine in 2006.
(Malin + Goetz) was launched in New York (Chelsea) in 2004. Minimal and unisex, it is a hybrid of beauty store and a science lab. The simple two-step ‘Cleanse & Moisturize’ streamlines face, body, hair and perfume routine. The Detox Face Mask won the best deep cleansing mask in ‘Allure’ magazine last year. Its key ingredients are Squalene, glycerin, and sodium pca moisturize and hydrate; soy protein and panthenol firm; green tea extract and vitamin E work as anitoxidants; vitamin C smoothes lines. The label counts Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst as some of their celebrity fans. The state-of-art packaging (which looks like something out of a chemistry laboratory) was exhibited in San Francisco Museum of Art as part of the Design Series in 2005.
(Malin + Goetz) is available in Barneys (New York), Liberty (London) and arriving in Hong Kong 31st July 2009.
