Micro 4/3 cameras, such as Lumix G1, facilitate various adaptors for difference lenses. For this very reason, the long neglected movie lens is now gaining considerable attention again. Meanwhile, the demand for Leica M lens is raised.
The British publisher Hove Books released the first edition of ‘Leica Pocket Book’ in 1980, serving as a complete directory of Leica products. With the constant stream of brand new Leica products, no less than seven updates were made in 22 years. Apart from English text, German and Italian translations are also published. Currently in its seventh edition, it is a complete catalogue of all Leica models launched from 1925, to 2002 ‘Photokina’ camera fair in Germany. From M to R camera and lenses, all special editions to compact cameras, the pocket book includes detailed information such as production year, model code, production quantity, as well as a brief review on each model.
There is space allocated in each page of the pocket book, for user to fill in his or hers personal notes. Needless to say, gaining an understanding of camera lenses is crucial for navigating the vast second hand Leica market.
