AUDIO ARTS
THE ALLURING SOUND FROM AN INDIE MUSIC LABEL
Apart from fashion and lifestyle design, Think Silly Store never ceases to introduce new exciting music to Hong Kong customers. Audio Arts is the latest arrival, available in store this week.
‘Major Force’, an independent music label set up by Hiroshi Fujiwara, Takagi Kan and Tycoon Tosh, debuted with ‘Last Orgy’ by Punk Rap Group — Tiny Panx (formed by Hiroshi Fujiwara and Takagi Kan). BAPE®’s (B)APE SOUNDS® was set up in 1999, with Takagi Kan and K.U.D.O as core members. It must be noted that K.U.D.O has been playing a key role in Japanese music and fashion scene.
K.U.D.O and Naoki Ei set up Audio Arts in 2008, with the motto ‘indie pop ain’t noise pollution’. Their debut album ‘Soundlogy I’ was released in 2008, following with second album ‘Compactlogy’ the year after. Its packaging, made in cardboard and velvet, is authentic and alluring. Dividing the tracks in chapters such as ‘Color’, ‘Humor’ and ‘Dream’, the senses is touched with visuals as well as sound. Even the packaging for in-store samples come as a lovely surprise, a combination of traditional Japanese origami and hi-tech material.
This is a perfect album for an early autumn sunset — the soothing sound is just right for a restful sleep.
