Revolving around TK’s (SILLY THING) personal favourites, Kubrick by Medicom Toy is following up its much celebrated ‘The Beatles Kubrick 1000%’ with French DJ duo Daft Punk as its next subject. The duo’s claim to fame debut album ‘Homework’ redefined contemporary electronic music by mish-meshing the classic and avant-garde.
Recreating Daft Punk in their signature style, their robot-like helmet and glitzy outfits are called upon for the occasion. The result is dazzling to the eyes — but do not forget that devil is in the detail. In this case, down to the trainers.
As the curator of this collaborative project, TK took the helmet of the Daft Punk duos as inspirations for the packing. The sets will first be available on 1st October 2009 at Think Silly Store (Hong Kong) and Cool Cats (Paris).The sets will also become available at various top retailers such as Dover Street Market (London), colette (Paris), Joyce (Hong Kong), Contemporary Fix (Tokyo), Surrender (Singapore),
Wood Wood (Copenhagen) and Qubic (Auckland) starting from the 5th October 2009.
