As time goes by, it is only natural the Ferrari Classiche department makes its appearance — a department specialized in maintaining and repairing vintage automobiles. Set up in old Maranello factory in Italy, the department also issues certificate to Ferrari road cars over twenty-year-old. Ferrari Classiche started to operate in July 2006, since then issued over a thousand certificates and repaired over thirty Ferrari classic cars. The operation has resurrected three classic designs in 2009 alone — 250 GT Coupé (Chassis No. 2735), which won Villa D’ Este Concorso D’ Eleganza ‘Best Restoration Prize’; F1 race car that was sold to North America Ferrari agency Luigi Chinetti in 1954 (Chassis No. 0388); 250 GT Berlinetta Passo Corto (Chassis No. 0419 GT), as drove by English race car icon Stirling Moss in 1961. When the hard work is complete, Moss would even meet with the car owner in person.

All Ferrari made in Maranello were documented since 1947, which resulted in a massive database over sixty years. This archive provides information on individual automobiles which take part in the Classiche scheme, even details such as parts required to be changed. Ferrari car owners worldwide may consult local agency to arrange application for the Classiche scheme.
