Brand-new-looking vintage furniture, Scandinavian designs and more, Flea+Cents on Queen’s Road East seems to bring endless surprises. Founded in 1996, Flea+Cents is a vintage homeware and furniture dealer as well as interior design consultant. Its eclectic stock ranges from 1970s deadstock postcard from Netherlands to new Eames designs. Stocking many rare and one-off items, I was once ecstatic for tracking down some Swedish fabric electric cord; disappointed for not being able to get hold of an American Hall mug at another time.

Once you start, it is very easy to get one’s hook on Flea+Cents. This special store has been managed by Jane since 2009. Introducing Muuto series from Scandinavia, there are many other examples of avant-garde designs in the store. A chandelier superbly named E27 Pedant Lamp has caught my eyes — an oversize round light bulb with four meters electric cords, making it a rather bold interior statement.
