LOUIS VUITTON
ONE CENTRAL MAISON IN MACAU
Even without the sight of Nam Van Lake and Macau Tower as reminders, one would not be able to ignore the location of Louis Vuitton Maison One Central — Macau. The tranquil scene on one hand — historic buildings, temples, palace; on the other hand, it is also known for the mega casinos — poker, bargaining chips. The HKD900,000 worth casino trunk and slot machine installation in the window are the unique signatures of Louis Vuitton Macau flagship store.
Three-storey high, the promenade-concept Louis Vuitton Maison One Central is transparent in its appearance. Natural light penetrates from each and every direction, emphasizes on the spaciousness. Wowing in terms of its visual effect, the monogram floral emblem on the main wall is composed of 50,800 colour LED; video screens are also set up in the travel room and top floor gallery, showing clips on the label’s craftsmanship heritage and more. This ‘shop-cum-museum’ showcases gamble-theme art work by French photographer Jean Lariviere (surreal photo images ‘Joueurs d’echecs de Budapest’ and ‘Le Labyrinthe’), Chen Wenbo (‘Lucky’ oil painting) and Liu Jianhua (‘Unreal Scene’, an upscale installation created with gambling chips), highlighting the glitz of ‘Asian Monte Carlo’.
