Golden Square, described as ‘a great resort of foreigners’ by Charles Dickens, situates in close proximity to the hectic Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street. Located amongst media and advertising agencies, Golden Square provides a much-needed breath of fresh air for office workers alike. Nordic Bakery, the ‘focal points’ amongst it, is ‘a space where visual clutter and noise is eliminated from your café experience’. Simplicity in its food and decoration is key.
Founded in 2007, Nordic Bakery arises with the increasing number of the Nordic population in the city. The chunky wooden door leads one to the Helsinki state of mind — with heartwarming scent of cinnamon buns, rye bread sandwich and coffee. On top of that, the comfort of knowing an Asahi will always within one’s reach on a hard day provides great relief to many.
