A NEW EXPERIENCE WITH ANDROID
Many consider the Apple iPhone as a revolutionary product in the smart phone category. In fact, Google has also started a brand new chapter with Android.
Taiwanese handset manufacturer HTC has developed the most advanced Android device, namely HTC Desire. It is set to be launched in May, the 119mm × 60mm × 11.9mm slim phone operates with the latest Android 2.1, 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 576MB memory. It is also complete with hardware such as 3.7 inches 480 × 800 WVGA multi-touch screen, 5 megapixel colour camera with face detection capability, ambient light sensor and 3.5mm stereo audio jack. It also comes with tailor-made thoughtful function ─ sits ringer volume is lowered automatically as soon as the phone is picked up; automatic mute when the phone is flipped face down at meetings. HTC Desire is designed with the user in mind.
Built with Linux as its core, Android’s most attractive specification is the Google services such as Gmail Cloud Sync, Google Maps, YouTube player and Android Market (offering free application downloads). Android is compatible with Adobe Flash 10.1, providing users with access to flash website and web games.
Comparing with the Google Nexus One, HTC Desire processes the latest HTC Sense UI exclusive interface, widget tools, Friend Stream function for social networks. The user can also log in to Facebook, Twitter and Flicker simultaneously, as well as upload films on to YouTube. The seven pages long desktop display can also be turned into a miniature preview. All these packed in one little gadget, HTC Desire is bound to be a new experience for smart phone users worldwide.
