The new era of Tassels is unfolding in July. The four young men, fixated with the quality and aura of Alden shoes, approached the label as a business acquaintance. Based in a tiny flat in Lan Kwai Fong (Central), the adventure began. They started opening merely four hours every week, and then the success caused them to move into a proper retail space in On Lan Street (Central). The legendary tiny shop managed to pull in Japanese tourists and young Hong Kong customers. The demand has grown to such a grand scale that a venture into The Landmark (one of the most prestigious retail establishments in Hong Kong) is next on the agenda.

Tassels specializes in high-end leather shoes, understands the importance of customer — service pre and post sale. Ever since On Lan Street, the English-club-house-like atmosphere is certainly engaging for many — having measurements taken, talking about shoes and other subjects. The Landmark store is taking it to the next level — elegant and luxurious, it is also stocking Edward Green, Crockett & Jones and Bontoni alongside Alden.
