iPhone is involved in more and more aspects of daily life ─ making phone calls, browsing websites, sending and receiving emails, online gaming and reading e-books. Inevitably becoming ‘an item’ with the owner, the relatively low volume iPhone battery means that one ought to carry the charger as well. Essential Tpe, Apple accessories manufacturer from Taiwan, has designed ‘The Icon iPhone Battery Pack’ to solve this less-than-ideal situation.

Obtaining the official ‘Works with iPhone’ certification, The Icon also gained the official ‘Good Design Product’ title from Taiwan Design Center. Its minimalistic design materializes the charging icon as shown on the iPhone screen. The compact size (72 × 46 × 16mm) is, of course, another advantage. The first to employ EL Lighting technique as battery level and function setting, the flashing four grids are a fool-proof indication of the battery level. The Icon prolongs iPhone for three (calls making), five (internet browsing) and eighteen (music playing) hours respectively. The internal Lithium-Ion Polymer battery is safe for constant usage.
