FRANCOIS HOUTIN FOR HERMÈS
LES MAISONS ENCHANTEES
‘A dream world, drawn with sepia-colored ink on cream-colored ceramic. Magical forests, childhood memories, tree houses…’ a déjà vu of blooming plants and cottage house appear in soft outlines ─ a story in ‘utopian’ gardens unfolded on ceramics.
Following Hermès’ ‘Tales To Be Told’ theme in 2010, La Table Hermès dinning tableware is also stepping into the fantasy world. The Les Maisons Enchantées series, as designed by Hermès scarf designer and renowned artist François Houtin, is inspired by 18th century gardens and philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s reflection on ‘back to nature’. The twenty-one pieces Les Maisons Enchantées series is created in faïence, combined with a shade of vintage eggshell and sculptural silhouette of tree-house and plant. An embodiment of fairy tale, the collection seamlessly inserts a dose of art into daily life.
