AIAIAI HEADPHONE TMA-1
THE BLACK MONOLITH OF 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY
‘No music, no life’ is a motto of many souls, old or young. In the spirit of that, portable headphone is without a doubt a key contemporary gadget. AIAIAI, from Copenhagen (Denmark), is co-founded by a group of musicians and designers, aiming to design a series of functional yet refined portable headphones. Following Swirl 2.0, which successfully attracted overwhelming interest, DJ Headphone TMA-1 is the company’s next offering.
The jet black TMA-1 is a minimalistic design, with a lightweight but durable nylon headband and an overall weight of 190g. Highly flexible, the design is complete with two changeable cushions, catered for different situations. TMA-1 is another collaboration with world-renown sound technology expert C4 Studio, who set the criteria as ‘impedance 32 Ohm, 20 to 20.000Hz frequency response and less than 0.3% distortion. The result is a balanced, pure sound. The name TMA-1 (Tycho Magnetic Anomaly-1) is taken from sci-fi fiction ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ by Arthur C. Clarke, the long black stone symbolises long-life and reliability.
