Apart from possessing ‘the first cheese room with humidity controlled in Asia’ and being selected as U.S. ‘Time’ magazine’s ‘Top 5 restaurants for cheese lovers’, the relaxing atmosphere conjured by laid back street view and wooden interior is key to Classified’s success – so much so that it is opening its fifth restaurant.
Following up Hollywood Road (Sheung Wan) and Star Street (Wan Chai), the Sai Kung Classified opened its door in October 2010. The fourth Classified is a hidden gem in Hong Kong Exchange Square and its highlight is of course, its fine selection of cheese and wine. Sourced from all over the world, it includes French Brie de Meaux, Italian Pecorino Sarde, blue cheese as well as various hard and soft cheeses. Cheese Specialist is available to accompany customers for tasting sessions – white wine is perfect with Tome au Jurancon, try Roquefort with dark chocolate cake, and why not try cheese with honey – guaranteeing its customers to be well informed before bringing their choices home.
On top of cheese, egg Benedict, fresh grounded coffee, handcrafted wholemeal and oat bread, black truffle risotto, roast chicken, Wagyu beef and fondue are also equally loved. No reservations required, nor dress code, it is most certainly a pleasant environment for culinary satisfaction.
