CELEBRATE NEW TRADITIONS
Founded in Hong Kong in 1850, Lane Crawford is celebrating its 160th anniversary this year. To showcase the unique tradition and culture in Hong Kong, the company has invited international creative practitioners to take part in the grand celebration featuring themes such as city, fashion, accessories, beauty and home. ‘Obscura’, SILLY THING’s first publication, is one of the local participants, creating a series of city-themed installation, art work and 3D animation alongside Alive Not Dead、Douglas Young、VERO、Kim Tang、Suitman and White Space. They bound to create a sensual experience in Lane Crawford stores.
Traditional Chinese items are also chosen to be the inspiration for new designs. Agent Provocateur, Preen and Thakoon are redefining ‘Qipao’; Antonio Marras, Caruso, Costume National, Helmut Lang, Maison Martin Margiela and Neil Barrett are reworking ‘Cheongsam’ (Chinese suit); jewellery designers Delfina Delettrez, Ivanka Trump, John Hardy, Lydia Courteille, M.C.L., Shaun Leane, Taher Chemirik and Theo Fennell reinterprets Chinese jade bangle; Chloé and Estée Lauder are creating exclusive cosmetic items; exclusive home labels Fornasetti, Native Union and Strida will also be participating in the elaborate 160th anniversary.
