‘Their teenage appearance is paired with a mentality to “become anyone”. They are full of possibilities and ever evolving’. The young and talented Aya Takano, part of Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki studio, creates these dreamy characters combining with surreal cityscape and pastel bunnies. The adorable yet distinctive aesthetic manifests itself in various media including oil painting, drawing, comic, illustration and text. She has been working as VJ with musician Joseph Nothing as of late, and launching the enchanting Christmas packaging for Shu Uemura.
Taking inspiration from magic, ‘abracadabra abracadabra’ is the key to enter ‘abracadabra Fantasy’. Reindeer and Christmas tree are transformed into blusher, lip gloss and cleansing oil decoration, fully immersed in the festive air. Also, the abracadabra Fantasy Christmas magic make up box (Hong Kong Only) is now opened for public auction at xmas-shuuemura.com.hk, until 30th November. A worldwide one-off, the donation will be contributed to ‘Make-A-Wish’ foundation. The best way to enjoy is to share, especially in the festive season.
