‘ART FOR BABY’ CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITION
According to scientific research, newborn babies are yet to develop the ability to identify colours; they benefit from looking at monotone visuals and sharp graphic patterns. When Yana Peel started working on ‘Art for Baby’, she donates its profits to art charity OUTSET Contemporary Art Fund. The art book was a surprise hit and became a renowned reference book for colour, shape and visual. It includes works by celebrated international artists such as Takashi Murakami, Julian Opie, Henri Matisse, Kasmir Malevich, Paul Morrison, Gary Hume and Damien Hirst.
As part of ‘Art for Baby’ Asia launch, Louis Vuitton is exhibiting a selection of six art pieces by Gary Hume, Damien Hirst, Takashi Murakami and Julian Opie in LV Art Gallery – Gary Hume’s oil painting and abstract sculpture; Julian Opie’s video of baby crawling on the floor, a direct reference to the theme ‘Art for Baby’; Damien Hirst’s work is minimalistic and nature-themed; Takahashi Murakami’s work is inspired by pop culture.
‘Art for Baby’ art book will be available for sale during the exhibition, all profits will be donated to OUTSET Contemporary Art Fund.
