New Balance is a company with tradition and heritage. Classic grey 1300, 1500 and 1700 are some of THINK SILLY editorial’s favourite. New Balance has recently collaborated with Huf from San Francisco, its founder Keith Hufnagel handpicked the often overlooked RC205 model to become the star of this collaboration.
Huf is founded in August 2002. Navigating all aspects of street culture, it offers clothing, shoes, accessories and customised skateboards. Mostly are rare items and limited editions, Huf quickly built up its own reputation and opened a second store in Los Angeles. Prior to this, Keith was a skater in Real Team sponsored by Stussy and DVS. After the opening of its second store, the business started exploring its own product development. Huf has also collaborated with Nike and Adidas previously, before its milestone collaboration with New Balance. In a palette of navy and pink, the design is in keeping with suede and net – traditional New Balance design detail. The letter ‘N’ – complete with air hole, twisted shoelace and 3M net layer – is the main feature of this design. Complete with dust bag, they are a collector’s item for sneaker lovers.
