Founded in Yokohama in 2007, Roberu has made a name for authentic handmade leather goods. THINK SILLY Store introduced its popular camera strap collection years ago; their iPhone cases also received much fanfare. With exquisite skills working with leather, Roberu has launched ‘Plain Toe Boot’ – the label’s debut shoe.
Using American vintage rounded toe boot as its blueprint and made in fine calfskin with wax finishing, Plain Toe Boot is available in two shades – camel and russet. Its sole is crafted with Goodyear Welt, paired with Cristy sole or Lug sole made by Italian manufacturer Vibram – changeable and durable. A tiny hole near ankle position helps holding the shape in place, which is a common feature in handmade shoes. Inter-layers are also made in leather, allowing shoes to take shape over time and unique to its wearer. Leather shoelaces are available in round or flat; each detail is a proof of Roberu’s painstaking effort.
