2011 S/S
THE 19TH CENTURY VIBE
Takahiro Miyashita founded fashion label Number (N)ine in 1996. Hugely influenced by rock music, his design is fused with the same sense of rebellion — distressed aesthetic, design details and print. His unique mixture of street wear and well considered details has gained him a place in the prestigious Paris fashion week. Post Number (N)ine era, Miyashita embarked on a new venture — TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloIst. — in 2010. With a background in tailoring, his new collection is based on traditional garment construction, in keeping with immaculate details at the same time.
SS2011 collection is an evolution of the last season. A softer silhouette gives a relax vibe, tonal effect is visually contrasting — not unlike the ‘A’ ‘B’ sides of vinyl, or ‘day’ and ‘night’. Asymmetric cutting symbolises Miyashita’s pursuit between reality and dream world. The ‘European gentleman’ style is quietly updated with hi-tech elements, such as wind-proof fabric.
The absence of size makes each garment a unique item. A fashion shoot featuring this season’s items is recently published in ‘Obscura’ spring 2011 issue. The collection is now available in THINK SILLY Store.
