THE FIRST LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE FROM SILLY THING
OBSCURA SPRING ISSUE 2011
Created with SILLY THING team’s unique vision, ‘Obscura’ has been gaining much fanfare in Hong Kong and abroad since its launch. ‘Obscura’ issue 04, filled with the most relevant features and interviews, is scheduled to be published this week. ‘Obscura’ editorial team attended Antwerp in Belgium to meet with world renowned fashion designer Dries Van Noten. Sharing his view and thought on design and life, the interview sums up Dries’ career over two decades; our team camped out in The Peninsula for twenty four hours, with access-all-area, for the ‘24 Hours in The Peninsula Hong Kong’ feature — a new take on the most historic hotel in Hong Kong; Andrew Bunney, our dear friend from London, spoke with the representative at Stasi Archive in Berlin. The conversation serves as a profound insight into a mysterious slice of human history; Radiohead album cover artist Stanley Donwood gives us a first hand record of working with the band, and how his work takes shape in the studio; the ‘Mini Guide to Alden Shoe’ feature is composed of a selection of fun facts on Alden, clarification of its various series and styling suggestions. Last but not least, we are also announcing the ‘Alden for Obscura’ collaboration.
Each issue of ‘Obscura’ is completed with a complimentary gift. Proposed by TK, this time it will be a minimalist canvas tote bag with a print taken from The Peninsula photo shoot, highlighted with the slogan ‘Life is Short, Art Eternal’.
