HERMÈS NEW COLLECTION OF CONTEMPORARY FURNITURE
LA MAISON
Based on horsemanship, French heritage leather goods luxury house Hermès is also known for their knitwear and ceramics. Its iconic Jean-Michel Frank ceramic collection was re-launched at the latest store at 17 Rue de Sèvres; Hermès also made its debut at the The Salone Internazionale del Mobile this April.
The exhibition was headed by the label’s Art Director Pierre-Alexis Dumas, featuring Enzo Mari (one of the most influential designers in Italian design, and was chairman of the first Émile Hermès design award in Milan) and Denis Montel (a regular collaborator since 1978, and is the Art Director of Parisian interior design team Rdai). A collection of contemporary furniture are on show — sofa chair, dining table, coffee table and screen; as well as textile items such as curtain, wallpaper and carpet, showcasing the finest craftsmanship combined with the most functional design. These products will be available at selected Hermès stores in September 2011.
