LECIA M9-P
THE QUINTESSENCE OF LEICA M PHOTOGRAPHY
The rumour of Leica M launching a new model has been persistent since beginning of this year. As the follow up of M9, the most compact full-frame digital camera, the rumour was met with much anticipation. It was not until 21st June that the label launched M9-P in Paris. As the name suggests, M9-P is an upgrade of M9, focusing on improving three aspects, while in keeping with the basic specification.
The red emblem is now replaced by ‘Leica’ embossed on the top, a more discrete and grown up aesthetic; the texture of leather is now coarser, after much trial-and-error; adding scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass on top of the LCD screen. The anti-reflective coating makes the camera easier to use in unfavourable light condition. It is available in black and silver, notably the silver color is light-toned in Silver Chrome, which differs from the M9 Steel Gray.
