FILME
PROMOTING FILM PHOTOGRAPHY
The word “FilMe” is derived from “film” and “me”, emphasising on the intergral nature of the two. CC, the founder, first experienced Lomography around three years ago and was captured by film photography ever since. She engaged with the likeminded online community, later gave up her previous job as an accountant and opened a shop to sell film cameras and films.
Although digital format is much more convenient and has grown popular in no time, film photography still captures a distinguish crowd. FilMe actively sources deadstock film rolls from Europe and US, apart from traditional 35mm, also 110, 120, 220, 4×5, 8×10, APS, Lomography and Polaroids. Many are rare-to-find, attracting many well known figures to visit.
A new shop just opened on Yiu Wa Street, Causeway Bay. The founder invited Outofstock (as featured previously) to design the space. The result is spacious and cosy, with many antique cameras on display. The shop also sells camera accessories, provides film processing and repairing services. Workshop is on its future agenda, continue to promote film photography to the public.
