Founded in 1975, Giorgio Armani made its name by creating relaxed modern tailoring. Now one of the most well known designer brands worldwide, it is extending its territory to restaurant business. Recently joint forces with Aqua Restaurant Group to open Armani/Aqua, offering Italian and Japanese cuisine; the restaurant is 6,000 square feet in size, bringing customers a spacious set up and extraordinary gastronomic experience.
The lengthy hallway is not unlike an extended catwalk. Jet black interior is punctuated with red lighting, Chinese elements (such as screen and window frame) and natural material (such as wood, stone, glass, steel and velvet). The result is in keeping with the Armani aesthetic – simplistic, elegant and unique — in flux with Hong Kong’s particular kind of East-meet-West atmosphere. Pairing Italian and Japanese flavours, the menu includes sushi (as well as other popular traditional Japanese dishes) as well as Italian signature dishes. It is worth noting that the kitchen operation is composed of two dedicated teams. Armani/ Prive is located on one side of the restaurant, complete with rooftop and stunning view of Central.
