AESOP GINZA
PRAGMATIC RED BRICK STORE

Following the launch of Aesop’s Aoyama store, the Australian natural skincare brand’s second store in Japan is recently opened in Ginza. Both designed by Jo Nagasaka, a brain child with Hiroko Shiratori — the brand’s Creative Manager. The location was once a forty seven years old shoe store, the sense of heritage echoes with the authentic DNA of Aesop.

Taking inspiration from the informal name of the street – Red Brick Street – the walls and floor of the shop are built with red bricks, except the wall on the other side is made in concrete. Wooden pieces are placed in between red bricks, alongside vintage-looking metal water tab and signature product arrangement. Red brick wall is a rarity in the Japan, a unique final touch to the down-to-earth atmosphere in store.
