THE LITTLE BLACK JACKET REVISITED BY KARL LAGERFELD AND CARINE ROITFELD
The classic Little Black Jacket released in the 50’s had always been one of Coco Chanel’s iconic designs. This symbolic piece has been endlessly reinvented and the jacket had become one of the sources of inspiration for the later collections. In order to tribute to this iconic piece, Karl Lagerfeld — the art director of Chanel had invited Carine Roitfeld to photograph the jacket worn by today’s celebrities including the French singer Vanessa Paradis, the American actress Sarah Jessica Parker and the model/drummer Alice Dellal. The different styles created for this book had strongly showed the versatility of this fashion masterpiece. The book named “The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL’s classic revisit by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld”containing over 100 photographs will be first made available in Japan on March 21, and it will accompany the opening of a photograph exhibitionin Aoyama running from March 24 to April 15, and the book will be expected to go officially on sale in bookstores from Fall 2012.
