boat (be optimistic and thankful) have successfully translated the concept of “time” into a simple yet stylish accessory. Founded by the duo who were born and raised in Hong Kong, Siu Man and Leo’s was inspired by the ancient Chinese people who used to carry their stamps that was used for identification purposes and to affix a signature to documents. boat uses high quality shealing wax as the material for the watch dial in order to bring out the message of  “sealing your moment”.

Using shealing wax and heat, production process is a very time-consuming process. The temperature and the pressure applied to the wax must be kept constant for a smooth surface. After cooling, the components are assembled by hand and several practical tests are carried out to ensure the quality is maintained. Each individual watch is handcrafted, assembled and packaged by the co-founders themselves who believe in the importance of promoting and encouraging local creativity.

The brand logo has integrated typography and imagery of a small sailing boat to represent their notion of their journey of design while discover new ideas for future collections. Customers can select the case, wax color, hands and strap to make a personal design for each individual, and the watches are priced at $85USD available on direct purchase through the online store.
