CHANEL “A LITTLE BLACK JACKET”
PHOTO EXHIBITION
IN HONG KONG
Under the camera lens of Chanel’s Artistic Director – Karl Lagerfeld, 113 iconic celebrities from all around the world each wearing Chanel‘s iconic classic design Little Black Jacket in their own ways, interpreting their own individual high-fashion style. This photography project commanded by Karl Lagerfeld, in addition of Tokyo leading the world’s first exhibition, and later on New York being the second stop and Taipei being the third stop of the exhibition. The tour in Hong Kong stop will be officially launched tomorrow (7th July). For the photograph collection book which is sharing the same name, will be forthcoming this fall for public sale. The year-long creation process were taken in places like the southern part of France, Cannes, New York etc., back to Paris at last and finish the whole photo shoot in Karl Lagerfeld’s studio. Celebrities were invited from worldwide, with various sectors of cultures, ages and nationalities, including Charlotte Casiraghi, Georgia May Jagger, Alice Dellal, Kirsten Dunst, Vanessa Paradis, Freja Beha, Zhou Xun, Yū Aoi, Yoko Ono, Uma Thurman etc.
In order to respond to the birth of Little Black Jacket in the 50s of the last century, the design was inspired by Coco Chanel, seeing a jacket on a male staff from an Austrian hotel.Therefore, the photo shoot has also invited several male celebrities, including Edgar Ramirez, Kanye West and Ken Hirai etc to participate.
